it's too early to think of pub, but enjoy your pint
i need a stiff drink to face going into the shed!
I have 3 options
Pub to watch football
Stay home watch cricket/football
Visit local park where something is happening in afternoon

weather is OK at the moment
watch the inspirational Paralympics, it's brilliant.
Playing cricket. With a hangover.
Hi - I would join you but that's 90 mins from here. The local is featuring Dartmoor beer at the moment.
I wouldn't mind going to the pub but he's fixing things! Looks like I will have to make do with the supermarket...
I did the hangover bit once, Zac, coming out of London to play for Old Herpesians at Eaton Park in Cheshire. The evening before, a Friday night, we crawled up the M1/6 eventually reaching the Pheasant Inn at Tattershall, than overlooks the valley and the D.of Westminster's Estate. Colleagues arrived and four of us set about two bottles of port on top of the wine and for some the beer.

Next morning, playing against the Duke#s chartered surveyor's team, we were quickly four wickets down, those four being us who had been on the port. Fortunately we had a very fine number three, who hadn't been present, and he made 154 not out, 270 plus in total.. Two of us redeemed ourselves with bowled x, caught DTC (wicketkeeper) with three combo wickets and won by 130 odd runs. A great evening in the Eaton village hall followed by the way.
Make mine a large dry white...and a bag of Scampi Fries.

Mwah.
Scampi Fries - used to love them as a kid. I can't stand them now.
Nice looking pub....

Nobody Inn at Doddicoombleigh is nice as well, (down in the valley under the west side of Exeter horserace track, all the way to the bottom, near Christow).
Lovely the Nobody Inn. Good food too. Brings back memories of Dartmoor holidays. Couldn't do all that walking now, unfortunately.
Not quite as good as it used to be - can't remember the old man's name but he still in the pale blue Georgian house next door, Gill, for the moment. His daughter still works in the pub - why they didn't let her take over the business, I do not know. The parents are moving though towards Christow, I believe.

Don't get me wrong, it is good but not the stellar place it usedtobe - that wine list that NoM would be having orgasms over - the Devon sampler cheese plate is still going though.

One other, towards Okehampton, is in South Zeals, the Oxenham Arms...lovely old place. http://www.theoxenhamarms.co.uk/
Under new management as the old boy shot himself in a shed at the top of the garden last January. Bar food was as good as ever.
Anybody been here on the west side of Dartmoor

Thanks for update, DT. Few years since on Dartmoor - lovely place. Have also been to Oxenham Arms but not Rock Inn. Looks good but you never know until you try it.
Yup used to frequent the Rock Inn, fantastic place...I miss it.
Rugglestone is a quaint, lovely, cosy pub, not much room between you and the bar though lol.....great after a hefty walk up Haytor.
I'll have a large white wine please Dave : )
Make mine a nice cold pint of lager please, dave.
The beer for me, dave
