The PSNI have arrested someone for the appalling cruelty to this dog.
If he's found guilty, then I hope he gets a very severe sentence.

It was an unspeakable act of cruelty carried out by someone evil.

I would like to know where the owner of the dog was and how the person who inflicted those terrible injuries came by the dog?

There's a good Facebook page that is updating regularly on the recovery of this poor hound. It beggars belief what goes on in some peoples heads, I just wish they would make sentencing harsher for animal cruelty.

Thanks for the fb links and the news that a second person has been arrested. I hope they get prison - I don't fancy their chances with the other prisoners.

I'm praying for little Cody's full recovery, although the mental scars to the little soul may endure for most of his days.

I sincerely wish the death penalty could be used - no chance, I know, but no so called punishment the courts could mete out will be appropriate.

Two men,both aged 21, have been arrested and released on police bail. Cody is improving, but is probably dreadfully traumatised.
I wish the two a happy bail period.

Codie is still battling for survival and may be allowed home for a few hours this weekend despite her horrendous injuries.
Like others on this thread I wondered how the perpetrators managed to get hold of her in the first place. It says in this article that her owner went to the back door and called her but she did not come running as usual. So they walked down the back lane towards the quarry where they saw her coming across a field, limping and in such a terrible condition they didn't recognise her.
It sounds as if she was allowed to run free and I wonder if this is usually the case in Ireland; if so this practice must be fraught with danger for the animal concerned.

Sadly Cody has lost his fight for life and has had to be put to sleep. Poor little fella - no more pain now little one. RIP xxx
