hi how many buns do you need in a horses mane to take him to a show i am taking my 13.1hh  flea bitten gelding to a show on sunday and i am really exited so pleas help before saturday thankyou becci

Depending on the size of the horse, about 9 or 10 dressage braids work well... check here for how to...

Allow plenty of time and don't forget the hoof polish if the horse is blackhoofed... wash them well with toothpaste if he's white hoofed...

If your pony is only 13hands you probly won't need too many.  Roughly speaking, use about an inch of mane for each plait and try and make it an odd number (it looks better for some reason, don't ask me why!) If you make smaller plaits, it will be difficult to work with them and to get them to sit right when they're stitched up.
