....when along comes a massive great storm. It's like being back in Manchester. On top of that, I had to scoop a snake out of the pool. Only a tiny thing. Very colourful though. I think it had lost its mummy.

Being very colorful is possibly and indication of your newly found pet being a [Coral Snake]... one of the more poisonous snakes in the U.S. Red, black and yellow. Other snakes are also this color but non-poisonous... the mnemonic to help remember which is which is "Red on Yellow, kill a fellow"... so as long as the yellow banding isn't touching the red banding, you're Ok...
