Cats Whiskers

Do cats whiskers fall off?
This week whilst hoovering I found two of my cats whiskers on the floor. They are definitely his because I held them up to his face and they match all the others. Do they fall out like fur does? Or could it be that he has been fighting? His snout isn't dry or enflamed or anything so I am certain that it is not hurting him, though I am keeping an eye on it anyway.

Our first cat strayed into us about 19/20 years ago but sadly was killed on the road outside our house about six months after we got her. But we were hooked and got two kittens from the cats home, one died at about 11 years. We then took an older cat in the same age as the remaining one but we just had her for about a year or so before she died. Our remaining cat lived till Feb last year, 17 years of age. I still really miss her. We now have two young cats for the last year, a male, Max and a female, Peri !!!!!! They are not related. We got Peri first, her owner an old lady had died. She is a very intelligent cat and loves kids. Then we got a little cat we call Lacey from the local vets but she had an intestinal problem and had an op and died so we only had her for a week. So we got her brother after she died, Max is a very big cat, a slob and very affectionate. Sorry to go on. I must sound like the mad cat lady. What I love is that our kids love and respect the animals as much as we do. I m stopping now.
Doh! or even Hoover! Anyway I thought you might like to see my sweet little kitty's who leave their fur & nail shells around my home! http://tinypic.com/64mm4k This is my Merlin. http://tinypic.com/64mmuq this is Millie. http://tinypic.com/64momv and this Sooty the eldest of the three. :-)
Hi Peri, Thank You, they are our babies as we never did have children of our own, so they do get spoilt. We have had over the years including the 3 we have now, 7 cats, Daisy the first one just disappeared, we did everything to find her without any feed back, we then got Baggins & Misty, Baggins was sadly killed on the road at 9mths, which was devastating, Misty pined for him so we got Blackie, who was special to us, we could carry him around in our arms like a baby and he never struggled to be free, he loved it, we lost him at 10yrs to cancer. We then got Sooty from a rescue centre, he was a accident victim from the vets which nobody claimed, we still had Misty Puss as we got to call her, she was 10yrs old by then and she always took to the new cats which we took in. Misty died December 18th 2000 at 18 & half years of old age and it was a horrible Christmas without her, I still miss her to this day. We got Millie October 2001 at 8wks, then Merlin last October at 8wks, we dont know the true age of Sooty, at the animal shelter they reckoned he was about 3yrs we have had him 12yrs. I could go on & on just like your good self about my kittys as they give so much and ask for so little. I will stop now. :-)
