... were sat in a vet's waiting room and started discussing why they were there.
The first one said "I was left alone all day, got bored and ripped the sofa to shreds. They're having me put down."
The second one said "They left the door open and I spotted the postman. I jumped up, pushed him over and bit his Yabbie. They're having me put down"
The third one said "I wandered upstairs. My mistress had just had a bath and dropped her towel. She bent down and I got excited and hopped on"
The other two said " You're being put down as well then?"
The third one replied "No, she's asked the vet to clip my nails"

Yabby is a name given in Australia to two different kinds of crustacean.
A freshwater yabby is a crayfish of the genus Cherax (infraorder Astacidea, family Parastacidae). They are often caught for food. A widespread species is the common yabby, Cherax destructor.
A marine yabby is a ghost shrimp (infraorder Thalassinidea), which lives in deep burrows in the intertidal zone. They are used as bait for fishing, especially in Queensland and northern New South Wales. A common species in south-eastern Australia is the Bass yabby, Trypaea australiensis.
