Thursday evening, Tigger didn't look too good and didn't eat her food. She was also drinking loads of water. Friday morning her back legs gave way and she wee'd whilst lying on the living floor. I took her to the vet and they did blood tests to see if it was to do with her diabetes and they said that she may be katoacidosis. The vet said this was strange as the glucose test was low and that she was showing signs of remission.
Anyway, things are a bit better today. She's been on a drip since yesterday and the vet said that her diabetes is under control and that she doesn't need insulin anymore which is good news but they want to keep an eye on her for a few days. She is also using the litter tray which the vet says is a good sign for her back legs, so fingers crossed.
Some other good news, my pet insurance renewal papers arrived today and it's only increased by £7 per cat, per month. I thought it was going to be a lot more considering the amount I've claimed for both Tigger and Blue in the last 12 months.
I did think of you often and how the cats were doing,I assumed all was well until your post just now, I am sorry, but glad to hear the good news too, pet insurance is a good thing to have. x
Glad things are improving for tigger - and re the insurance, when I claim constantly for Rover, they don't put the premium up because of the claims, they put them up as your pets get older. You don't get no claims bonuses for cats, unfortunately!
They look so pathetic when they are ill - and for her to wee on the floor she must have been feeling mega awful.
I am glad that she is getting better - they are valuable members of our families and it is so sad when they are ill. I hope that she is bouncing around by the time Santa Kittie visits.
sorry to here shes not well tigger , good that she doesnt need insulin anymore , it could be she has just picked up a virus which is making her unwell , issy was off her food about a fortnight ago and also peeing for england for a few days but is back to normal again
