I'm especially looking out for the piece on Rooks which was filmed just over the fields from us. It might not be tonight necessarily but maybe later in the week.

Looking outside this evening, I can't imagine how any wildlife survive really.
thnx-i forgot it was on
Well some wildlife has unusual strategies. Apart from the mice, which have suddenly appeared from outside, a wren has just settled down in our conservatory and shows no sign of wanting to leave!
Yes, I'm enjoying it
Waxwing!!!!

Waxwing chasing!
Oh I know how Martin felt when he found them......so many!! Aren't they gorgeous?
Had a beautiful, big, fat Fieldfare in the garden today - feeding on the crab apples in the snow :+)
No Fieldfare here Dave. Had them every year when I was in the middle of town. Nearer the countryside now yet not one.
Didn't see waxwings here this winter but had them a couple of years ago, such beautiful birds - first time I'd seen them
This one was like a turkey - feed a family of four for a fortnight ...
Oi!!!!!
Was thinking of you as they started the piece in waxwings, gness.
How cool was that to have them eating out of the hand?
Saw a Fieldfare on the golf course a couple of years back, had never seen one before, reminded me of a large thrush.
Are they of these Isles?
That lad was lovely Chill......to eat out of my hand.....bliss. :-)
Winter visitor rather than breeding resident - numbers vary a lot from year to year.

Fieldfares are winter visitors to UK from Scandinavia. I saw one in the garden a couple of weeks before Christmas. Beautiful bird feeding on the bright red berries of autumn.
Ours are from Scandinavia and a protected species here......Dave! ;-)
