Who here couldn't have predicted this outcome?

Feel sorry for the lady but a teeny tiny part of me thinks that she was incredibly daft to think this was anything other than a loathsome toad out for all he could milk from her.

pretty stupid. But her family seem a right bunch of buzzards. It was her house, not theirs, and now she's in trouble they don't want to know her.
I read this article and the selfish old bat sounds just like my mum. This woman was a drug addict, gambling addict alcoholic who had her family evicted many times, she also used to leave her 13 year old in charge of the younger kid whilst she went out drinking. She then wasted their inheritance on a bloke she barely knew.
I would have disowned her too!
I just read this too Boo and while I feel sorry for the lady involved, she must have known the risks involved. She is saying now that her children were at risk/ threatened and she was doing what she did to ensure their safety. Sad all round.

i don't for a minute believe she was thinking of her family when she was with him flump!
flump, you appear to be commenting about a different story to the one linked to.
Daffy I am yes sorry guys slinks away .
The stupidity of some women never cease to amaze me......
There is another story in the mail about a grandmother sentenced to death for drug smuggling.
Stupidity.
Question Author
ahhh right, gotcha flumpy, lol
It would seem she has a history of making poor, selfish choices-and this was the ultimate one.
Hopefully her association with Emmaus ( a Christian charity for the homeless,if I'm not mistaken) will have helped her turn her life around.
stupid, she is old enough to not be naive about these things, same as a lot of these blokes that go to the Philippines "for love"
I get the feeling that this incident with the toyboy was 'the straw that broke the camel's back' with her family.
Morning Boo and all x

She was ruled by her heart and obviously looking for a little love, naivity took hold and she was totally besotted by this creep, hence what has happened.

This seems to be rife in certain countries and I hear about this happening in many sun-drenched islands I visit during the year.

Shirley Valentine wannabes......you do feel sad for them, but as most of you mention.... self-inflicted.....painful way of learning though eh?
Her family will probably calm down in a week or two - I'd be livid too if my Mother did that.
It's only ever one of two things, money or a British passport.
@Ric.Ror...I doubt it-this all happened 4 years ago.
Maybe in another 4 years?
Love is blind ...
Most people seem to think the family have disowned her for this one incident, I would bet my bank balance that this isn't the case!

Imagine growing up with a drug addicted, alcoholic mum who gambles. She also leaves you to bring up your younger sibling when you are just 13 whilst she stays in the pub. She gets the family evicted multiple times because she has spent the rent money on drugs and booze and gambling. Then to top it all she gets herself involved with a young Turkish man and gives him your inheritance.

Would you forgive her?
Question Author
No, I wouldn't daffy, and like you said, it's probably the straw which broke the camels back.

It does seem this woman's lead an incredibly selfish life, which now has bitten her on the bum. A part of me also thinks it's of a waste of money that a charity is helping her out, especially when its her own actions which have brought about her homelessness.
