Cows shelter under trees when there are thunder storms - not the best place to be. Rooks have their nests destroyed during high winds etc. Having said that I do believe animals, particularly cows, dogs, cats and horses sense a change in air pressure that heralds a thunder storm, waving their tails about and generally behaving in a skittish manner - although this could have something to do with being bitten by Thunder Flies....
