Can cats suffer from this deforming condition ? I have seen it in humans and
a certain cat of my acquaintance appears to have an identical condition, though it is masked under a thick furry coat.

The cat is, I think, a stray who visits us daily for feeding and a quiet safe place to sleep. Your thoughts, please ?

Well Von Recklinghausen described the disease in humans.....so really it cannot occur on cats.

However in humans it is multiple neurofibromas and I cannot see why this shouldn't occur in cats.......but I will try and find out for you.
Well....cats do suffer from multiple nuerofibromas.

Google it for further knowledge.

Thank you, Sqad. The neurofibromas are widespread on Coco's torso and appear to be proliferating. No distress evident but his voice is affected - a harsh squawk instead of a normal miaow. Perhaps his larynx has been narrowed by a fibroma?
Thanks again for your helpful reply.
Scylax......that is interesting.......neurofibromas can effect the nerves to the muscles of the larynx and if this has happened his abnormal mmeoow may be due to partial paralysis if one vocal cord.
