Can I Dna My Dog To Find Out What Breed He Is?

Yes I have seen this service advertised, I bet it is very expensive. You could post a few pics here and some of the doggy people will get the X pretty near the mak for free.

In theory there are firms that offer this service, but to be honest its a waste of time, because all they can tell you is that your dog may contain certain breeds. Did you get him as a purebred or crossbreed? If he is supposed to be purebred, but you are not sure, then you need to check out the breeders dogs. If he is a crossbreed, does it really matter?
Post us a photo or give us a description - we are all intrigued now! Don't forget though that whatever new dog you get will have a totally new set of genes, and won't have the benefit of growing old with you and you both learning along the way. We get a lot of people saying 'my old dog never did that', but they probably forget that their old dog either did do similar things or others just as naughty or unpleasant! Each new dog brings its own challenges and fun finding out!
