Slinky Insect
11 Answers
Sitting in the garden today enjoying the sun and I found an insect making is way across my newspaper.
I was small, green, about 1cm long and very thin. It moved in what I can only describe as resembling a slinky. No legs but threw itself forward and concertinaed its body up to meet itself. It might have been a larva I suppose, it was small and wormlike but with this distinct movement.
Any ideas what it was?

Did it 'loop' up? in which case afaict it's a geometer ("inchworm") the caterpillar of a certain species of moth.
