Kindle Questions - Want To Buy One
15 Answers
Which is the best one to buy?
where to buy it cheap?
If i take it on holiday, how do I download books?
How much do books cost?
Should I download books before I go away?
I have never had one, and now as i'm going away, I don't want to carry weight in my suitcase, so a kindle can go in my handbag, and wont weigh anything.

I love my kindle. I can take all my books with me - and no Excess Baggage charges! I don't know which is the best, but I've got an Amazon with 3G so wherever I happen to be I can download books. Prices of books vary, as they do in bookshops, but many of the classics are free on Amazon - and you log into their website via your kindle. One click to buy. Easy.

I have two, the ordinary Kindle, and a kindle fire which was given to me as a Christmas present. You can download books for free in some cases, oder titles can be had for a few pence, and it's a bit cheaper to download newer titles than to buy the actual book. The kindle syncs to your broadband and automatically downloads when you complete the purchase. It it possible to download kindle sotware onto your laptop so you can buy and read online as well and when you purchase a book from the kindle store it downloads onto that as well as the kindle. If you just want to use your kindle to read I would simply buy and ordinary kindle - maybe one that allows you to read without a separate light. I find I use my older kindle more than the Fire.

I've got an ordinary Kindle and I love it. I looked at the reviews for the Kindle Fire but people were complaining that you can't read them in the sunlight so they are no good for holidays.

you can use it on an aeroplane, the hotel you stay at will probably have free wifi but you can download books before you go as it saves battery .

Mine's an older one from Amazon - I've had it a few years - so it doesn't have a light - but it does have 3G which means I can buy books from wherever I happen to be in the world without the need for wi fi access. My credit card number is registered with Amazon so I go into their website via the kindle, choose my book, and when I click to buy it's paid for automatically on the credit card and downloaded almost immediately. I can't provide a link because as I said mine's not one of the newer versions. I don't know anything about the others that people here are recommending.
