hi boxtops,i had a look and some say its worms, eczema, mites,i just wanted to see if anyone was on here that knew about budgies.thanks ill have another look.
My muum and dad had budgies for yrs, but havent had a budgie with this problem though.
every feather of a bird has at least one nerve connected to it so the bird can feel when it is out of place. With poop on the feathers it must be trying to 'clean' it off. the cause could be hundreds of different cases and really need a physical examination by a qualified person.

In case it is just a short spell of runny poos due to too much greenfood or a wind that blew up it's... err.... botty, clean it off with a toothbrush and warm water. Let it soak for a minute and it will be easier to brush it out above a bowl. Make sure there will be absolutely no draught that can reach the bird for 6 hours or until it is seen preening and dried up.

If in a day or so the bottom is foul again you really need to get it seen to.
