I shall be 70 this year and have never had any allergies or hay fever - ever and yet today my eyes are itching and also my skin feels tickly. Could this be some sort of allergy akin to hay fever even though I have never had it before? One of my daughters' developed asthma in her thirties and both my daughters only developed hay fever when we moved from London to a rural area surrounded by conifers when they were childten.

Its very likely to be a mild hay fever Stargazer. Not necessarily something that will stay with you, but maybe there's a new crop in a field somewhere and the pollen is blowing your way.
We have both had this once or twice in our lives, bur are not regular hayfever sufferers. Ask the chemist for an antihistamine tablet to take for a couple of days and it'll probably relieve it in no time.

Thank you Maydup. I did wonder if it could be a random thing. I will try antihistamine.
