Or spray vinegar slightly diluted with water all over where the cats are fouling. Other than that you will just have to put up with it. . Cats do what they do weather they are owned or strays. It may be fox poo though or badger poo...they are just as bad.
FGT, who said anything about releasing the cat in the countryside? Cat rescue have microchip readers don't they?
Baldric, cats are wild animals,, I don't think they can be stolen in law.
Why do the victims of sh1tting cats have to act with more consideration than the cat's hosts? My sister had a ground floor flat with a flower bed instead of a balcony, the 'soil' was very dry as it was sheltered by the balcony above. There was more cat sh1t than soil, the stench was appalling, the windows had to be kept closed especially in the summer. She had to move.
Water pistol or hose. A dilute spray of Jeyes fluid on the places they have used as a toilet.
jomifl, please see the quotes from the earlier conversation - or are you unable to read them through your hatred?
friedgreentomato, You have taken what I said totally wrong!

When a cat is let out of the owners door it is released into the wild.
There is a product called "Keep off my grass" that you can sprinkle around, you can get it from the garden centre.
Oh, and don't use bleach or any chlorine based chemical since some cats are attracted to it and find it absolutely irresistible.

Ratter, would that apply to a Dog as well?
I find it amazing that some on here think it is OK to trap a cat for fouling and dispose of it to a rescue centre or in the 'wild' but would not do the same for dogs!!
Other things you can try is mulching the area with sharp stone chippings or spreading prickly cuttings on the soil (although this may not work if the grand tiddlers are playing out there).

You could try planting a Scaredy Cat Plant - more info here:- http://www.climbingplantsdirect.com/Product.asp?ProductRef=1156

The trick is to break the cats' habits. Once they've sussed that it is no longer their toilet, you should be OK.
Cat burying its crap is a myth. Some might, many, maybe most, are content to leave it on the lawn or path or wherever they do it.

There are many things on the market, not all are particularly effective long term. What deters one cat may be ignored by another.

Cats can be trained. Many are taught to go in a dirt-box, which is a prime example.

Auto-detect squirt things are ok at the back where you may have an outside tap, more awkward if at the front as few have an outside tap there.

Ultimately you can only try different things hoping to find one that works for your pest.
fgt. Hatred? I don't think so..we used to have cats but they didn't sh1t in other peoples gardens they were traine to use a litter tray indoors. You may not be aware of it but cats when trained to use litter trays will sh1t in anyrhing that looks like a litter tray, such as seed trays, plant trays, fire ash trays etc.
If the cat that sh1ts in your garden is a stray then taking it to cat rescue is an act of kindness. You are taking this too personally, I'm sure that your cat is beyond reproach.
Baldric, Im not sure of the situation with dogs released but I do believe that to be the case with cats, I could be wrong.
friedgreentomato, no one has suggested catching cats and releasing into the wild, stop being twisted and read the replies!!
Ratter, I think that cats are considered to be wild animals in law. If you accidentally kill a dog on the road you have to report it to the police but not so with a cat.
Thanks jomifl, at least someone gets the point, I think friedgreentomato is just being an arse!
RATTER15 > no one has suggested catching cats and releasing into the wild, <

this has been posted at least twice in the last couple of years along with shooting them and throwing stones at them along with many other cruel things.

as a dog lover i am sure you would not want people to hurt/harm your pets or other peoples dogs , cat owners are no different
Put on old footwear and accidently walk in it and go over to neighbours house and invite you way in find a carpeted area and talk about the weather .Then after they have noticed the smell just say wonder how that got there we don't have a cat .Do you ....This will prob be removed so act fast.
DrFilth, friedgreentomato is referring to answers on this thread as he has pointed out.

I would not condone any cruelty to any animal, that is why I suggested the means of deterrent that I did.
