Thought I'd reply here rather than tapping onto Belindabee's thread....
I'm not too bad at the mo ta... tiptoing along on egg shells. Son is doing better than I've ever seen him (I'm saying that very quietly and with fingers crossed), he seems very positive and says he doesn't have any cravings. He's been quite poorly, the 3 in 7 hours seizures did some amount of damage, almost half of his tongue has gone and his back is still very painful - he's also had a DVT! If only it could've been me he would've seen what it's like but of course he didn't know owt about it. Hospital were brilliant, he was in for a week.
Thank you so much for asking after me it means so much as I don't really have anyone to talk to xxx

Thank you all you're so very kind, so much so that I've shed a tear...
When the doctor came to see him she said "If I'd come to tell him that he's got cancer we could help him but he's an alcoholic and the only person who can help him is himself" She wasn't being unkind. It's something that I'd never thought of before and it's very sad. All we can do is go from day to day, Mr M and I are almost 70 and didn't expect to spend our retirement this way (not that he can afford to give up work!) Thank you all again for your kindness xxx

Many of us live with masma, for different reasons.....we have our good days and bad days - one of the most inspirational folk that suffered enormously on here was owdhamer - yet what a character he was, the humour and a sheer will showing through, his care for folk that he had never met showing through in what he wrote and even made for some of us. Incredible.
The point is that we can help you ride the crests and troughs of this emotional journey - and, I suspect, at whatever time of day or week.
