obviously it not for me. as a dog owner to object to fireworks on November 5th or even new year, but I do think its unfair to have them going of so early.
When we were kids guy fawkes night and the bonfire were something to look forward to. Now by the time it comes around to the 5th of November everybody is sick of hearing fireworks.
We can see the main bonfire in town from the flat - sometimes the moronic moggies sit and watch it from behind the double glazing. When I had my dog and had to take him for a walk it was a nightmare.
Frankie was ill with his asthma when I got home earlier. I had to take him to the vet as he was wheezing. He is now making me pay for this by howling and harassing me for treats.
Sorry anne, my Border Terrier couldn't care less and his pal the Greyhound is far too laid back to care but it must be sheer hell for more sensitive dogs. So I agree with you.
He just got a steroid jag. He has (reluctantly) been taking his inhaler for the last two weeks but had started coughing and wheezing. He wasn't bothered about coughing but his mum was in a panic. He is hiding under the radiator. Being an indoor cat the trip to the vet is quite a trauma for him (and me too).
What kind of a dog do you have? Both of the dogs that I have had have been part GSD - I miss the company of a dog but cats are quite entertaining and assertive.
Princess Stroppy is off in the huff - I snarled at her!
Anne you can get a calmer that you add to his food (it looks like food) our local petshop sells it - I won't get there till thursday but do you want me to find out what it is?
We're trying the Feliway diffuser (as recommended by the vet) - I don't like any of these plug-in things due to the fire risk if they overheat. The cats are still arguing, but OH and I are really laid back :-)
