I entirely concur Mrs overspill.
I am a dog lover, but I recall the time in our local park when someone's huge slavering dog galloped over to 'play' with my two-year-old daughter. As I held my screaming child over my head to keep her away from the 'playful' dog leaping up to get to her, the owner advised he that he 'won't hurt' love.
That's as maybe, I replied, but I will, and if you don't call your dog off, I am going to kick it in the face.
The owner accused me of allsorts, but was sufficiently sure that I meant what i said, that she restrained her dog.
Everyone's dogs, like everyone's children, are a delight to their immediate family - that family simply need to remember that not everyone feels quite as intensely loving about their pet or offspring as they do, and therefore are not willing to 'embrace the love' in a public place.
