How To Bury A Budgie
48 Answers
My budgie has sadly died :-(
I would normally put him in a cardboard box and bury him in the garden, with his little mate who passed away last year, but I don't seem to have one.
Would it be 'ok' to use a plastic container with a lid, which is what he's in now.

Baby_Sham So sorry for your loss R.I.P Reggie.
Reggie's gone to Heaven now
No need for him to roam
He's been welcomed in that happy place
And been made to feel at home
Free,no longer in a cage
Heaven's big & wide
He'll fly where ere he wishes
Other Budgies by his side
Do not be sad
Because you miss him so
Listen hard,you'll hear him sing
Wherever you may go.

I didn't know he had been dug up, sorry to hear that. :o(
Ken, you are right, I sound like a serial budgie-burier. :o/
We used to rescue them (saw some appalling sights - there are some cruel ********* in this world).
Anyhoo, for many years we had indoor and outdoor aviaries and hospital cages full of these lovely little creatures.
We eventually had to stop burying them due to limited space in our garden, so OH built a small cremator. We still used the inside of kitchen rolls as mini coffins though, found them ideal for the job.
Btw, to the person who mentioned BS's bird being ill ....birds are very good at hiding their illness until, sadly, it is too late for them to be helped.
I believe this stems from the fact that in the wild, the sick and weak will be targeted and killed.
