I'm of the two are better than one school. But, make sure that there's a reasonable difference in age; with a big breed like a Leonberger, I'd say 6 months. I have had two Irish Wolfhounds that were 3 months apart and they were five times the trouble of two adults; always up to mischief, and irresponsibl e, they destroyed a 3 piece suite when I left them with an adult...

Twice as much poo to pick up! Apart from double drool, double bathing and drying and eight muddy feet. Double the cost of boarding if you go away, and you may have to have two separate kennels. If you get another bitch you could find they don't get on. If you get a male you will have to be careful if she is not spayed. If she is spayed I would suggest getting a male. Much harder to walk two big dogs together too. But who am I to tell you - I have down to just five dogs now.
