any idea why supermarket flowers i:e daffys / tulips are kept out of water, there in buckets or such but no water.does this stop them opening up or something,i thought cut flowers out of would just die quickly
Not many flowers will last long out of water but some more than others will die quicker, the supermarkets are just hoping for a quick turn around on daffs etc.
They are preventing the bulbed flowers from flowering by keeping them out of the water. They sell enough for them to last without water but other varieties wouldn't tolerate it.
