have rung the vet who said to bring him to emergency surgery tomorrow at 12. does anyone know what the symptoms could be?
I wanted him seen tonight because it sounds serious. any help ABers?

Sounds pretty serious, I'd get him seen tonight if at all possible.
Has this come on suddenly, he's definitely distressed ...can you possibly get him to a vet tonight ?

Yes started this evening. I thought it sounded serious. he is getting on but usually in good health. when she rang the vet the dog had fallen asleep so i assume she thought he was ok but he woke up and cried just after. its heartbreaking bless him.

Sorry, but it's got to be Vets ASAP
I wonder if he has a high temperature maybe wash him down with some coolish water, but im no expert.

He's an old boy, but if this is a sudden thing it could be an infection, so sooner he sees a vet the better, you do right to take him to the emergency vet right now, hope he'll be ok.........

Just seen your post Jubieanna - sincerely hope the dog is ok? You did the right thing by trying to see a vet lastnight - hope they managed to see you? all the very best xx

Thank you all for your advice and concern. 'magic' the dog has something in his tummy causing swelling. he has had painkillers and anti-inflammatory injections. he has to go back Tuesday to have scans to see whats in there :-(
He is a bit better today though so injections have helped. Heart and temperature were ok.

Thanks for the update jubieanna. Glad to hear he is a little better. Can we have an update after the scan as well please?

Love the name Magic. XX
