Laser Pointer Cat Toys

I bought one of these in the supermarket today and the cats all seem to enjoy chasing the little light all over the floor. You have to be careful not to let the light shine in their eyes, but if you keep the thing pointed down onto the floor the cats will chase all over the place trying to catch the light. We've had a lot of fun this evening, Henry is tired out! I just wondered if any other cat slaves have used these laser lights to amuse their owners?

Not only cats like them, my mate's dog loves to chase one as well.

Our cat goes mad for it... as does my OH's year old nephew.

Are they enjoying it or is a source of frustration to them? I'm not a pet owner so don't understand animal ways.

I wouldn't say it is any more frustrating than a cat chasing a fly.

I guess it diverts them from cruelly toying with little birds and animals before finally slaughtering them.
