Tuesday. I got back home last night after a great weekend. I discovered why we has the roast Sunday lunch on Saturday. Sunday my friend had to don his mayoral robes to be at the celebration of the reopening of Yate railway station. Not as boring as it sounds however. There was plenty to see and do, including a 1941 Bristol open top bus, on which we had a ride. on the top deck. Very pleasent. A delightful lady had made a cake in the shape of the station when it first opened. A work of art it was.
After that we went to a pub for a meal, I know, most unusual...not where there were many of the people that were on the weekend in Bournemouth last year. It was good to see them again. We are all off to Torquay this year.
Wildlife update. i put some sustenance out for foxy and tiggy. Foxy was first to appear at ten to eleven last night. The look said 'About time too squire!' Tiggy was a bit later and stuffed himself and went on about his business. A drop of rain during the night, so most of the usual suspects were at home being sensible. The pair of foxes were in their usual place, ready to leg it until thet were sure it was me.
A goodly weekend it was. I hope everyone had an enjoyable one also.
Morning boaty and minty, and all other callers too. Sounds as though a good time was had boaty.
Today is the last day in our house after 35 years, and have suffered enough stress over the last 10 days to last a lifetime. Moving date for new house is still six weeks away, wonder if No 1 son will know what's hit him? We're going to get our own back, use the bedroom floor as a wardrobe, oops, forget to do the washing up etc., etc!!
Morning blue xx wonder if you'll get the "you treat this place like an hotel " rant ? Lol.... it's a funny feeling leaving a home you've been in for such a long time, but sad leaving all the memories...
Morning BT. Always a stressful time mate. To get your own back on the offspring you have the grandchildren for the day have fun with them but fill them up with sugar and give them back! :o}
It was lovely here yesterday, took a day out and had a day at the seaside ! Went to north Berwick...it was a local holiday here so quite busy, ate fish 'n' chips on a bench in the sun, had ice cream...walked around the wee shops...it was nice to do something other than painting and gardening for a change..!
I agree, the house is just brick and mortar, the memories are etched in the brain for ever.
It was Mrs BT who was keen to move! I've now got used to the idea and am really looking forward to the new place! a one and a half mile walk to the beach. Just hope the summer lasts into July and August!
Well done minty xxx You deserve a nice day out. I'd like to treat you to lunch, but we are too far apart. it would get cold by the time it got to you. :o}
North East Lincolnshire minty, really pleasant spot. Was born and brought up not too far from the sea on Merseyside, so I suppose it'll seem like home from home!
