Is there any way that they are getting food - such as cat food or similar left out? You have to work out what is attracting them. A possible solution is to spray the tops of walls, fences with something like Detol.

Yes, the foxes.

Thanks Jenny Kenny will try the detol.
Same as any other wildlife. Remove food and shelter. Disturb corners, undergrowth, spaces under sheds and so on regularly and frequently.
YOu can get a bloke to pee round your garden and mark "HIS" territory. That can help.
Male pee where they come into your garden and fill old stockings/tights with human hair and dot around where they come in.
Hang on, when I've had a few pints I'll come and do it.
You might find this interesting.

My OH says the bit about human hair works, and particularly male hair - but personally I wouldn't know for sure.
^^^Oops, sorry, I am a very slow typist and I didn't see EcclesCake's reply before I posted mine.
You can buy a box of Lion Dung (seriously) at the garden centre. It smells of lions, and deters cats, foxes, badgers etc who think there is a very large predator in the area.
I've heard about the lion dung before. It would be interesting to hear if anyone on AB has ever tried it.
Re: the lion dung. I have a colleague who works in a zoo in his spare time and he said that they are now prohibited from giving/selling the lion dung. They used to be able to do it but not now. It`s since BSE or foot and mouth or something.
I suspect they can't give it away because it get sold to manufacturers!

Quite enjoy watching the foxes parade down the Close.
Silent Roar is not lion dung. They are pellets that are soaked in'essence' of lion dug although what that is is anyone`s guess. I`ll have to ask my zoo keeping friend.
Essence of lion dung? Sounds expensive.
You could try leaving a length of hosepipe on the lawn, say about 4 - 6ft long. Kick it every day to move it around and make the foxes think it is a snake.
