School Dinners - Grrr!

What a stupid reporter on BBC TV News just now, on the school dinners article. Interviewing a small boy, he said he liked everything about school dinners - the reporter said "what, even cabbage and carrots?" The boy replied "Yes" and the silly woman responded "Well, I don't think so!" Calling him a fibber on national television - how about that the boy LIKED vegetables, you daft bat? Grrr!

Interviewing children isn't going to result in terribly in depth information about school dinners. I liked the custard - especially with the chocolate crispie thingy. After many years it is all that I remember.

I remember toad in the hole, jacket spuds and Eccles cakes. I enjoyed vegetables as a child, but have no recollection of them on my (school) dinner plate. I enjoyed digging them up from our garden and prepping them or sunday lunch, though. Proper memories!

That's the only veg that causes disputes with my 4 Grandchildren, 2 will eat them and 2 won't.

I stopped even trying long ago.

My daughter was born loving parsnips.....once as a toddler we had had a long day out....in a shop I said....I think we deserve a treat...cream cake for me... what would you like?

More often or not, when children are interviewed for Radio and/or Television they are told what to say.

@Mamyalynne......A lot of TV/Radio interviews are scripted before being recorded.

Radio interviews can actually be put onto paper as a question and answer lay-out. It's a little more difficult with TV which often requires more than a single 'take' to obtain the end result.

When one of my grandsons was wee he hated all veg but loved cheese.I asked him if he'd like some home made soup and he asked what is was and I said cheese and he came back for seconds - what was it? Vegetable!
