My daughter phoned me tonight as her husbands working away, because she went in a bathroom and there were loads of flies.
She dosent use it that often as she has a en-suite from her bedroom, but she had a few last week, and put one of those sticky fly catchers in, which had about 40 flies stuck on it tonight, but there were still lots flying about.
There is an extractor fan that goes into the loft, with a half cover on, so I was thinking there could be a dead bird up there.
I told her to mask it up for now till I can get there in a couple of days.
I suspect you may be right. My woman had loads in her porch last year and our guess was a dead mouse or other rodent under the floor somewhere. Blocking the air vent temporarily helped a lot.
Aside from that there is little one can do save use thew fly catcher. At least if it is a dead bird you have a chance of getting to it.
I agree with previous posters. Yes, a dead bird, mouse ?
Get rid of the dead creature and the flies/bluebottles should go too. OMG, I hope there's no sign of maggots.
I hate this kind of thing. I've gone all shivery just even thinking about maggots.
Best of luck, the sooner you act , the better xx
We had this problem years ago, it's horrible. It was fruit flies. We put on a mask and sprayed fly killer, left the room for half an hour, job done and been clear since.
The Ch repair man rather wetly said: oh and there is abody of dead mouse in the heating cupboard
and I said - great ! ( fella: erk !?)
me: I have been looking for that for a coupleof weeks....
fella aaargh ! as I pick it up and then wash my hands.....
[ I didnt give it to him anything ]
