Warts On Face
7 Answers
My elderly Mum still likes to keep herself nice so has been upset over some warts that have developed on her face.
I took her to the GP who referred her to the Cyro clinic to have then Frozen off.
We waited 3 weeks for the appointment only to be told by the nurse that they were too big and as they are flat warts the freeze treatment would leave a bigger scar than the warts.
Mum is very upset, she doesn't know what to do now.
Are there any remedies we could try at home? All the 'wart removers' I have see all say, not suitable for the face.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I don't suppose going privately is an option? - I'm sure these can be tackled somehow and a paid for consultation is more likely to help in cosmetic type problems like this. Just my opinion based on no medical knowledge.
PS I wouldn't dream of trying any over the counter wart remedies on the face.

I've had verucca's removed before by electrolysis. warts and skin tags can be removed the same way. A good beauticians should do it. In case you don't know what that involves, a fine needle is used to inject heat into the wart/verucca a few times, then hopefully it will turn black, scab over and fall off. It didn't leave a scar on my foot, but I'm not sure about the face. it got rid of my verucca's with one treatment after freezing and Bazucca had failed to work. It cost me £25 for one treatment.
Just had another thought. Mt friends son recently had a wart frozen off which was on his forehead. He was told that once it fell off the new skin would be lighter than the rest of his face for a while, so he'd have a small mark lighter than the rest, but this would soon fade. There was no mention of it leaving a scar and as far as I'm aware it hasn't done.
In my experience, by far the most effective wart treatment a ten minute application of ultrasound. We have always done two to be sure but I am not sure it is essential.
I have personally seen two cases where the wart was not responding to anything conventional. One was a huge plantar wart. The warts simply shrank and fell out over the next couple of weeks.
The treatment was advised to us by a woman whose daughter's severe persistent wart problem was cured when she had ultrasound imaging done.
The biggest problem was finding someone with the equipment who would do the treatment because it isn't a a main stream use for ultrasound.
We are about to test it again on my granddaughter this Friday. Fortunately we have thoroughly impressed the physiotherapist we used for the previous treatments so he is more than happy to oblige.
I will report back to this thread in a couple of weeks.
