Planning Permission For Brick Built Dog House
5 Answers
Hello
I am wondering if planning permission would be needed to build a brick construction dog house in my back garden? it would be separate to the house and measure W12xD12xH8 foot. I have looked and various websites in order to find out but there is so much info and rules and regulations I am getting lost in it all. If you can advise or guide it would be appreciated
Thank you

On Zac's link, look at the "interactive house".
You should find that your kennel comes within "permitted development". No permission needed.
It can be sited anywhere except forward of the principal elevation. That's usually the front elevation facing the road, and with the main entrance in that elevation.
Listed buildings will always need permission though.

I've lived in houses smaller than that ;o)
