Well, you know men: We're easily led astray. x-)

@Gness

I thought Ireland was (legendarily) free of snakes? Who let these ones into the wild?

Tell me this is all allegorical talk, please.

The other way of looking at it is that you are stealing part of the snakes' natural food supply so they will have to go eat some other unfortunate creature. Any human intervention interferes with the balance of nature and usually changes things for the worse. I'm all against that sort of thing.

That's odd. Google made that to be "sleep tight" but detected Afrikaans. When I selected Dutch, it translated to "good sleep", which would get an odd reaction, here.

Of course, in some parts, "tight" means drunk, which certainly helps with sleep ;-)

Night all (or Nytol?)

Hypo....I live in England....but I am indeed Irish...each year members of my family make the pilgrimage to climb The Reek to give thanks to Patrick for banishing snakes from Ireland....I thank the Ice Age so I wait in a great pub at the bottom of the mountain.

As for depriving them of their food.....much as I hate to disturb the balance of nature I really, really don't like snakes and I adore frogs....so any spawn I can save this year will be saved.....
....or you can just look upon me as part of the balancing of nature........♣
Well,,,I liked your joke Jim :-)

Oh, Ron,.....now I am more determined than ever to rescue and nurture as many future frogs as I can......
Sorry, Hypo......it has to be done....x
Well, let us know how you get on.

In the meantime don't google "moving frog spawn to another pond" or you will get stuff like this…

I'm in Northants, Lynda....are you further south? No one in the village where I was hoping to rescue some has any yet...
I really miss watching the development of frogs in a pond...x
Never seen so much frogspawn. Got a 70,000 gallon pond at work and massive waterfall https://www.facebook.com/PrestonRockGarden

Frogs have laid so many eggs, i don't know what to do with it all. Trouble is, it's all been laid in 2 places....one of the waterfall pools and in one marginal bed. Ive had to move loads of it around to ensure that it's not too overcrowded when it hatches otherwise many of the tadpoles will starve to death.

Hammerman.....you work there?....Lucky you, but if you see a little redhaired Irish woman with a bucket please turn a blind eye....

What a great place and I just love the bike/mower in the rockery....you've given me ideas!
