The Scottish Wildcat looks like a huge domestic cat, but scarier looking.

Bit late, sorry. In California in 2001, driving up along the coast (dream holiday OK!) an animal bounded across the road in front of us, I just clocked it as a lynx before it disappeared. It was pretty big - small Labrador size.
