Ants Are Back.

just in the one part of the house(the same as last year)they are running over my computer desk.they have been seen for a couple of weeks,i bought 2 lots of ant trap bhetill appearing,what can I do now ?

Can you track where they are coming in from. We found loads coming from air brick which we filled with ant killer, seems to have solved the problemm

when son comes in I will get him to push the desk forward and see if I can see anything,they are a damn nuisance

You should be able to track down the nest outside. Pour a couple of kettle-fuls of boiling water on it. Worked for any ants I have found.

Why don't you put banana skins, jam etc somewhere in the garden so they don't come in the house. I would try and ensure whatever you put is covered.

Use Dettol mixed with water. They are not that stupid to go into traps, and stuff like chalk, or strong smelling stuff like cinnamon does not work. Dettol kills them and trust me, it works. Get a cheap spray bottle from the pound shop and mix it half and half (Dettol and cold water). I hate them with a vengeance! Be careful not to use where cats and dogs are.

I am in an upper cottage flat so I don't have a garden,(it belongs to downstair neighbours)
I have a dog in the house.
I will try the Dettol round the skirting board behind the computer desk.
