Pixie Hats And Snoods For Greyhounds

These are cute...but I'm not sure Sally would agree with having a pixie hat. I may get her a knitted snood instead.

It's easy to forget that she will feel that she has a fine coat and will feel cold. But I would still smile or laugh at her in the park. Get her a nice girly one.

Our first weimaraner felt the cold if he wasn't charging around full tilt. This was around 30 years ago and coats for dogs, except for greys and toy dogs, were unheard of so I got the biggest greyhound coat I could find and altered it to fit him. people did laugh but it was better than seeing him shiver. Its one of the reasons that Wei's aren't much used by the police. They are more than capable of the work but are single coated dogs and feel the cold and wet if they have to stand around. Fine coated dogs who do agility have fleece sweaters that they wear while waiting to run and also afterwards to keep their muscles warm.

Sally had a fleece a few years ago...but she literally refused to take more than three steps out the front door with it. I also noticed that her coat gets noticeably thicker in the colder months. She spent her first two years in a shed...maybe her tolerance for the cold is different.

Pasta - I had that problem with a doggy raincoat. One day is seemed to suffer from instantaneous disintegration - either that one someone tried to eat it.

My last dog had a problem with his feet freezing up, he would grind to a halt and put the affected paw up - I got the ice out and then we went on our way. The boots that I bought didn't last long.

Get whatever she needs to stay cosy - she has hard a hard start to life and deserves the best,
