Yapping Crying Dog Next Door

I know I have posted this question before, and we have done as suggested, had a word with neighbours, but to no avail it yaps every time they leave it alone, non stop. So far today it has been going on for hours. The women's comment is that as we can understand, they have to go out sometimes too. We told her to take the damned dog with them and leave it in the car, but she said " oh no, it hates the car and gets very nervous " any suggestion ? I am thinking of slipping a bit of poison under the door when they go out, I am that fed up. ( joke )

You seem to have no choice but to report it to the council as noise nuisance.

Poor dog, stupid irresponsible owners who don't give a stuff about the dog or the noise nuisance. You've had a word and that didn't work, looks like reporting it the council is the only way forward.

I doubt anyone would expect the owners to never go out. What they do need to do is train the animal...otherwise it will only get worse.

I don't know how anyone trains an animal to not get separation anxiety...

My cats gets it...but they don't bark.

Unacceptable state of affairs.
With the owning of a dog goes certain responsibilities one of which is making sure that the "barking" is acceptable to the environment.
In this case it is clearly not.

Constant uncontrolled noise exposure is a health hazzard, both mental and physical and my advice, after getting nowhere with the owners, is to report them to the Council (Environmental Health.

Report them if it is effecting your health and well being - you have the right to. Some people should not keep animals but there are those who have tried everything to train and calm their pet, with no results! Either way it isn't fair on you

It's a difficult situation but having experienced the almost unbearable stress levels created by a yapping dog left alone next door I really sympathise. What I used to do when the neighbours went out is scream at it through the letterbox. it actually did shut it up.

I've had this with 2 dogs over the back from us, make a note / Time / Date / how often the dog barks, then take your evidence to the council & I would ask the officer in charge to come down hear this dog barking, it comes under noise.

You could try the RSPCA. Surely it is animal cruelty to leave a dog in a distressed state.

@pasta, your link recommends chews & locking dog away. Dogs dont bark while chewing......Same as my suggested comforter.

But generally these animals are well cared for loved pets. Everyone has to leave pets for short periods at some time, that's why it's not easy to deal with this. They're not usually being cruel.
