As you know I have said his fur is growing great but a cuppla times when I go to groom him it "hurts" him. Anyway his nails had got very sharp and so tonight earlier on - I was just lucky the groomer took him, done the nails bathed him and he is simply Mr Devine.

However I have noticed this but sorta put it to a doggy thing but the groomer said that his paws were hurting him. I have noticed he does lick them a lot - anybody know what I could do to lessen the licking without resorting to more vets. thank you.

When I first got him - he licked his groins, his feet etc and I brought him to the vets 3 times. One vet put him on antibiotics and allergy tablets and he came on very well. If he needs a vet I will bring him to one.

Tonight after being groomed he has done very little licking so will be grateful for any responses.

Maybe his 'nails' were just too long, and licking was his way of dealing with it?
Mine walk on grass, rather than concrete, and I have to keep an eye on the length of their claws.
Walking on concrete acts like using an emery board on a dog.
try rubbing aquas cream on his paws, it worked for my little pup

thank you guys - reporting to say his licking has subsided a good bit (ferlew - perhaps it was his nails as the "thumb" one was like a sharp hook) and yes Tandh - do have fantastic aqua cream that works great for me (no, I don't lick my paws LOL) - will try that out on him if he starts that oul carry on again.
