hey guys, I never tried this before, but I'd like to get some opinions from people don't know me. guys or girls are both welcome. So, I'm a student in a professional school. I like this girl so much. She is a student at the same school. so here is the story, in the first semester, she talked to me and sometimes grab my hands. at the last two weeks of the first semester, she stopped talking to me as much or even touch me. So, I ignored her as well, and I barely talked to her, not because I was angry or something, it is just because I respect the distance that some people make with me. Starting the following semester, she resumed talking to me , but no hand touch. I resumed talked to her as well, joked with her, just like nothing has happened. Later, she is kinda started to hold back again, which was kinda funny to me. Anyway, I held back as well and didn't talk to her for a while. Basically, just doing the something, haha. Later, in the following semester, she started talking to me more again, and she even asked if I can be her study partner and I agreed. But, the funny part, we never studied together. and then the cycle continues. She obviously stopped talking to me suddenly again. I never asked why, I just stopped talking to her as well. She even started to ignore more than usual, more than she did in the first semester. She even walk past me without staring at me at all or even saying a word. Eventually, the following semester, she resumed talking to me, which was weird and funny to me. and On my break from school, I asked her if could buy her something, she replied, " surprise me". Then, I did buy her a gift. I gave it to her and she gave me a good, warm hug.. She said she liked the gift so muchhhhh, and that I'm really good at choosing gifts. This is the end of the story. My question is " do you guys think she likes me back?". She is a very nice girl and she always tries to help out students in the class. I really like her personality. I'm a happy person, and I'm doing good in my classes. She is doing good as well. I almost wanted to tell her last week that I really like her, and I want to share my life with her as a boyfriend and maybe more in the future. Then, I chose not to because I don't want to lose her as a classmate and as a friend if she says that she doesn't like me back.

So she was initially interested but moved on. You decided to reciprocate her disinterest.
Then she made contact again but showing less interest than before. Seems she wanted to cool it but not lose all contact. You mirrored this.
Became a little closer again later, but again limited. Then she reduced contact again and once again you did the same.
At this point I'm thinking she isn't interested in more than a casual relationship and you aren't giving any indication you were hoping to make more of it either. Or if you did, maybe that was the times she backed off ?
Walking by you without acknowledging you. Could be she's daydreaming and not seen you. That's has happened to me. Or maybe she is deliberately not encouraging you.
Eventually return of contact. Asked for a present ?!?!? Which you bought ? Hmmm doormat or what ? I think she likes how you can be manipulated and do anything to please. Unsure how "nice" that is. You mean she is pleasant to get what she wants ?
By all means have a serious discussion about your relationship, where it is, where it is going. But in my opinion you'd be better finding someone more enthusiastic about you and moving faster (not overly fast mind you) such that the relationship doesn't become 'casual "friend"' and reduce any chance of it ever being anything more. Don't wait until you "worship" someone and feel you need them before you've established it as being close and long term.
