Mr. Chox and I were talking about all the old BBC Sunday afternoon series for kids that they used to have, i.e. serialisations of all the old Dickens classics - Great Expectations, David Copperfield, A tale of two cities, etc. Does anyone remember them. I think they were on in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Had a look on Youtube to see if I could find any clips, but no luck so far ..... Just being nostalgic really (having just seen - for the umpteenth time - the 1946 David Lean adaption of Great Expectations!). I used to love these series and such a shame they don't make 'em like that any more! Chox.

I can remember Kidnapped and Treasure Island from the late 50s.
If you scroll down here to the 1950's there are quite a few TV adaptations of Dickens . Might help in a You Tube Search ?

I remember Jane Eyre with Anne Bell who later starred in Tenko. Loved those Sunday teatime series.
