Why Don't Cats And Dogs Usually Make A Noise Farting?

I have very rarely heard a dog or cat make a noise farting but know they have when no warning was announced. Some do it more than others but I can only remembering hearing anything once from each of them. Is it because their bottom is a different design from ours?

One dog we had used to fart quite loudly, then get up and nonchalantly move away trying to look all innocent. didn't half stink too.

I think that maybe you were not paying enough attention, im sure they do pass wind , it probably did it while u were asleep, (I take it that you dont have a round the clock vigil just in case there is a a windy moment ). Maybe its an issue that no one has really thought of before. i have never heard the sound of my dinner dropping in my belly but im sure it happens , my advice would be not to worry about it , theres far more exciting stuff going on around...

Our old dobie used to fart the really loudly. Scared the bejesus out of himself regularly.

Many cats and dogs secretly practice producing SBDs because that think it's funny to watch the reactions.

Its to do with their sphincter muscles being different from ours - so they tend to sneak out their farts as opposed to making large sounds.
