I have just opened the newspaper and yet again a sickening sight of someone hanging a puppy. I know what I would like to do to these people and I am sure others would too. My question is. WHY  do they have to print pictures of the poor dog. I have enough imagination to know what the scene looked like. I don't need to see it in print. This has really upset me and I think it is time the newspapers stopped printing these pictures. I really hope they catch the culprits. But then again what will happen to them . Not much. Perhaps a fine and a ban from keeping animals. Where is their mentality. It mads me sick.

The RSPCA requested that the image was published. I agree with this as it shows the type of SCUM that are out there. Only they know what else they have done and what they have got away with.

Corporal punishment would be a start ... or how about an eye for an eye .......

Apparently we are a nation of animal lovers. Hardly.

I didn't know that.I suppose from the RSPCA view it is shock tactics. Trouble is the people or person who has done this and maybe other things probably just don't care. They would be the biggest cowards if pain was inflicted on them. I for one would turn I blind eye.

I havent seen todays picture, but there was one last week of a pup that was alledgedly (sp) used for shark bait. Looking at the picture there was no way in the world that the hook would have been big enough to catch any sort of size shark that would have been interested in the size of that bait.  I reckon that there are just some evil people out there who get their moment of glory from crap like this.

I saw the shark thing on the RSPCA website tonight. The hook is placed through the dog's muzzle, not the shark. So sick.

There is a petition on the RSPCA website to stop this disgusting practice.PLEASE TRY TO MAKE TIME TO SIGN IT.

I think its good that they show these pictures - maggie...would you be on here now in such an angry mood if you had merely read this news in a headline?

I doubt it, you would probably have thought how awful, then turned the page...just like most other people did.

By showing these pictures, it forces the average person to deal with the issue, to understand the extent that these things happen and inspires these people into action.

Its easy for us to come on here saying how horrid it is, but what good does that do? We need to name and shame, we need the type of people who do this, or who don't care that it happens, to start being made to deal with it, and made to see how disgusting it is, and see that they are in the minority, to see that the general public is against them.

If that means I have to see an unpleasant picture then then so be it. If it saves only one animal from abuse then its fine by me.

We need people to be upset and shocked by what they see because this is the only way to get backseat dogooders to take a front seat.

What makes me sad is that the Scum that do this don't see the pics - They are bereft of enough intelligence to read. Sadly the people who see the pictures aren't necessarily the people who need to see the pics.

I personally don't think the picture help *normal* people, but I can understand why they do it - desperation for a solution. I've signed the petitions on the RSPCA website, but really, if people are going to do things like this or the other thing on the website, that I don't want to mention. I really don't see how you can stop it. There is something inherently wrong with these people. ..

We can only hope...and support the cause.

LauraLou.. I know the hook was put through the dogs muzzle, but surely if the dog was being offered as bait when the so called attacker bit the dog, these terrible people would be hoping to catch the shark, but would not be able to as the hook wouldnt be big enough.

I haven't seen the picture of the hanged dog but your post reminded me of something I heard on the local news last week about a group of teenagers using rabbits as golf balls, standing on a cliff and using a piece of wood and seeing how far they could hit the rabbits, apparently they arrived with 2 bags of baby rabbits and only one survived when somebody passing by rescued it. It makes me sick how people can do things like that
