Surely there must be better quizzers out there who'd be prepared to go on this show. The standard of general knowledge on most TV quiz shows (Tipping Point is particularly bad) is absolutely woeful, and I often wonder how they dare go on national TV, and how they get past an audition - if, indeed, the producers bother with auditions any more.

I caught a couple of minutes of TP the other day and to the question, "what was the middle name of President Roosevelt?" the answer was, "Eisenhower" :0

Agree I don't think they want you to have good knowledge don't want to give away prize money Tipping Point Questions are so simple and practically telling you the answer and still the contestants get them wrong(what language is spoken in Portugal answer Spanish) one of todays questions

I had thought that today's TP winner was quite clever until she said that Millais' painting of Ophelia was inspired by A Midsummer's Night's Dream.

I thought it amusing that another contestant guessed that Winston Churchill was the prime minister who had attended a girls' school.

I know it must be difficult when you're under lights in a TV studio. I wouldn't be able to remember my own name. :)

Even yesterdays Celebrity Eggheads, the same thing happened. She was asked which island was most northerly and given the choice of three , the Isle of Man. Jersey or the Isle of Wight and her answer was Jersey. Unbelievable!

Cloverjo - I've been on a TV quiz show (more than once) and, yes, it can be a bit unnerving, especially the first time, but some of the answers I see are beyond anything that could be excused by nerves.
