Budgie Question

As I thought, I have to ask at least one.

FIL was given a gorgeous, handsome blue budgie for Father's Day.
Do they need their cages covered at night?

Budgie is called Jason :-)

We only used to cover the cage at night so that it would not sing with the other birds at stupid o'clock or if it was a cold night.
