Goodbye Little Amber

Amber has gone to sleep...relieved of any suffering. And I do believe she was suffering and ready to go.
I am just in shock as all this has happened too, too quickly.

Oh my dear Pasta I am very sorry for your loss.
Perhaps it is better being so quick as you then do not have to agonise over what is the best course of action.
Amber will be with your forever in your memories.

I am sorry to hear that, Pasta. She's at peace now and in no pain or anguish. You have done the right thing by her but I know how much it still hurts.

Thank you all for your lovely kind thoughts. They've made a truly hellish day that tiny bit more bearable. I'm still trying to cope with the suddeness of it all...and with the space left by her loss.
Even though there is still a rather large dog, and another cat here, there is an emptiness...a void. I'm waiting for her to ask for food, to rub against my ankles...to do that trick of hers of throwing herself in my path as I walk down a dark hall .
My other, big bully of a cat, knows. He's head butting me like crazy, sleeping with his head on my foot. The dog is a bit scared...she doesn't like it when I cry...
