dinosaurs

Does anyone know if there is a coherent theory as to how evolution would have proceeded if the dinosaurs had not been suddenly annihilated? For example, is it supposed that they would have hindered or even prevented the development of mammals and thus of man?

As said, a great question, birds are descendents of Dinosaurs, and I read somwhere that if they had'nt died out, they would have developed somewhere along the same lines as us. don't know if thats true, but its an interesting thought.

The dinosaurs were around for millions of years before they were wiped out so probably would have carried on much as they had previously.
