Calling All Cat Owners. Is 4 Poos A Day Too Many (Cat Not You)?
12 Answers
If your cat is out a lot you may not be able to answer this question of course.
I have recently taken in a 2-3 year old male cat who has been neglected and abused all his life. After a few weeks with me he now weighs about 3.7kg and eats either 3 or 4 packets of soft food daily plus helps himself to a small amount from a dish of dry complete. Would you expect this amount of poo relative to the food he eats?

They are soft solid as opposed to hard solid and no worms. He's spent so much time at the vet since being rescued I shan't take him again until I have to as I don't think it's anything serious and may be quite normal. Cats I've had previously have spent a lot of time outside so I don't know how often they "went". Should have asked them "Have you Been?" Hilda Baker? used to say that on the TV. He looks fantastic now, he's so happy and loving and even tries to play with the dog who's not having it!
Thanks alba and jammy. Oh he's loving it alba, he's the boss already. Jammy I'm more of a dog person as well but I'm just a sucker for an animal in trouble and oh boy was he in trouble! The real hero is my dog who has allowed him to come and live with us bless him. But dog's face was a picture when he came to his bed and found the cat lying in it on his back with his legs in the air LOL.
My last cat lived into her 21st year Dsj, had her from 5 weeks old when her mother abandoned the litter. I took two but her brother got killed on the road. Always plenty of water out for animals in my home, rainwater or tap depending on how much is in the water butt. Ummmm I expect your's liked rainwater which is probably better for them anyway.
Yes Sqad thank you, he's all of those things and more so I'll do as you say and monitor the situation. He's playing with the leaves in the garden as I write. I'm not really worried, just curious I suppose.
Badly and not through a sanctuary jb as I wasn't looking for a cat. But that's all in the past for him now though. Thank you for your support.
