When I was working full time it was always tea/walk/cereal/shower - once I was off that treadmill it tended to depend on the weather - the garden was big/secure enough for the dogs to have a quick poopertunity if need be & then a proper walk at our leisure.
Sally has learnt to wait. I'm rather stiff in the morning so it's a good hour before she goes out. Though I can run her downstairs for a quick wee if necessary.
Used to be up and go when the dogs were younger. Now I have trouble getting them to wake up early. They just want a wee in the garden and back to sleep bless them.
I wish my dog would take that attitude. He's nearly 12 and at his most animated when he wants to go out. He has a 20-25 min walk (all he can manage now) and then comes home and kips all day. Each day with him is a bonus now, so he's thoroughly spoilt
Im trying to get in a routine with my pup I try to let him outside first thing but we have artificial grass on the bit of garden he's allowed on, and he doesnt seem to want to have his first wee of the day on there, he waits until he's out on a walk and can use real grass.
Always walk first when I had my dogs. Loved the early winter ones when we got soaked then back for a hot shower, also the summer mornings, used to be out about 6am before work.
When we had dogs it was always out first. With regards to a puppies routine before we started taking him out after his injections he would always go to the same spot in the garden and for several days after we'd started taking him for walkies he wouldn't do anything till he got back home and could use "his" spot.
Why isn't your pup allowed in all of the garden fruitsalad? I take my dog out every day at about 10 a.m. for a couple of hours, usually to the local park where we normally meet other dogs for her to run around with and then it's back home for a late breakfast for her and lunch for me !
