Wednesday. At last! Been trying to get on for an hour.
We had a flurry of snow yesterday afternoon, not much, but enough to persuade me to get the salt down on the ramp up to the hardstanding, It has a sideways slope to it, can be a bit 'interesting' when it's icy. The car can slide sideways, big gate posts, not good. The roads are clear, but but the snow is lying on the grass.

I'm off down to the canal later for a couple of hours. The bloke that should be there somehow injured himself at home yesterday. I don't mind going.

Have a happy day everyone.

Morning Kate xxx Lovely to see you. Where have you been hiding? Haven't seen you for ages!
G'mornin', Boaty.

There's consistency for you. The GMEB thread started at exactly the same time on Wednesday as on Tuesday!

The local rail company cancelled all branch line services bar one out of Ipswich and Norwich yesterday, only for no snow to fall. (It was a beautiful, if cold, day here in Suffolk). So they've now reinstated them. Of course, since then it's been snowing! It's stopped for now though, although we've finally got enough of the white stuff on the ground to build a decent snowman, with a bit more forecast for later on.

Watch out for some rather different traffic on the canal today ;-)

Good morning, Kate (even though we've already 'met' on the crossword thread this morning).

Morning chris. Nice to see you mate.
No chance of doing that on the Gloucester and Sharpness canal. It's 16 feet deep. Well, it was until they stopped dredging it! The banks are too high as well.

Mind you; we do get some eejits on it at times!

There was one bloke who named his boat Titanic II. It sank!

Question Author
Sorry to see that Kate. It's still good to see you.
>>> The banks are too high as well

Not all the way along though, by the looks of it:

(I wonder why anyone would actually want to buy a copy of that picture?)

It must be wonderful to have a gift for fortune-telling ;-)

It seems so mate!

There are two of those old WWII barges moored on the canal. Why I have no idea. A couple of runaway teenagers were living in the cabin on one of them for a while.

I think they were on their way down to be used with the rest of the Purton Hulks. But were abandoned when they weren't needed.
