Another Good Song That Reminds Me Of Something

I heard this on Sounds Like friday Night on Friday and have been listening to it all weekend. She has a great voice in my opinion and this version is much better than the collaboration she did with rapper Big Sean.
Anyway, the tune reminds me of something else from a few years ago (maybe many years) and although i keep humming it I just can't place a little bit of Last Christmas but that's not the one I'm thinking of)

Ooh, this is driving me round the twist. The beginning of the song sounds like a mash up of The Supremes and Gladys Knight et al. I can't pin it down to one song.

I'm puzzled by that.
A bit Rihanna-ish was expecting shine bright like a diamond to be sung at some point.

There was a girl on X-Factor who used to sing similar but I can't remember her name. I remember Cowell constantly telling us 'she was relevant'

Having come back to the thread and no longer listening to the wrong song (have autoplay on and was listening to 'Devil in me') I can hear some similarities between Smokey's song and this one.

Okay, last post from me on this thread even though I still love the song. I'm just posting this third version for tonayav- poorer audio but maybe the video makes up for it. It looks to me though as if she's just escaped from a burning building
