I used a Halti-lead on both of mine, who were dreadful pullers, and though it took them a few days to get used to it, they soon did, and that solved the problem beautifully.

My dog hates the halti lol he just thinks it's a game
Are you sure you’re using it properly, Mutantninja?

On the command, “heel” the halti should be tugged sharply back towards you and then released. I can’t see that being seen by a young dog as being a game.
We used a Halti with our dog, it worked a treat. When I looked after my mums dog for a week (terrible puller), she soon learned that she’d have the Halti on if she didn’t behave on the lead.
Same here with my then, young Lab Toby. 15 years ago. He very quickly realised I meant business.

We had similar problems with Bruno when we took him on a couple of years back. We bought a harness for him which we could pull back on without harming his throat, got that bit sorted, moved onto a collar, not too much problem with that move. He is now fine with a collar and lead, and when away from traffic he can be safely let off without any problems.
I found part of the training was to turn around and pretend I wanted to go other way. Then if she started pulling again I would turn again and start to go other way again. In the end she realised she had to stay with me as she didn't know which way I was going to go.
It was quite funny at first, although a little frustrating, as we could be outside the front gate and not get more than a few yards at a time.

You really do have persevere, though. It can take a while.
My two dogs kept trying to scratch them off etc., but perseverance does work.
